You clearly had something to prove when you dug up an old post of mine saying not at all what you thought it said. Quite frankly I don't know why you care enough about me to remember a comment I made over 2 months ago, find that comment in some list you compiled (fyi I'm pretty sure people don't actually bookmark posts, it's just a saying), and then go out of your way to "expose me", or something.

I think everyone should just accept that this is the direction the franchise is going in, it almost feels like they know people are underwhelmed, because they've kind've had to backtrack and explain all of their decisions to remove key things from the game, so they haven't really been unapologetic about the whole thing, which is a little frustrating for me, because I never felt that way about previous releases of The Sims, and that lack of confidence is the key to their real problem in my opinion. There's also the whole, no one is allowed to review the game until it's released, which in a way, makes it look bad, or that they aren't certain and or aren't as confident in the end result, I remember with the Sims 3, they hyped it to the heavens and beyond, and y'know what even though the Sims 3 caused a lot of problems for me, bugs, crashing, everything. To the point where I can't even be bothered playing it anymore, they had the right to hype it, because it was a huge step forward, being an open world game. They should've really marketed this game on how smooth it is going to run, having all simmers in mind, to make everyone have the best playing experience, not just people with high-tech computers. The Sims has a strong following, and people are going to buy the base game regardless, even though their is so much left out, which really, I expect from a base game, they've also added and entirely new element of the game. The emotions, with grasps a different aspect of the Sims, I think their biggest issue is they haven't SOLD it to people, they really haven't seemed confident enough to say, you're going to love this because it is going to bring you a entirely new way to play The Sims. Anyway I think if they release a new expansion within the first 3/4 months of release, adding in the things people seem to be complaining about, their shouldn't be an issue, they also now have the opportunity with the new base game, to do whatever the heck they want, create the expansions they want, it's a new chapter for The Sims, and you might as well just accept that this is where The Sims 4 is beginning, and nobody really knows the journey it will take, their are countless possibilities. We all need not to forget that this is indeed just the base game.
I can't explain them not releasing a MAC version if this is indeed true, then this is obviously ridiculous on their behalf, and they're cutting off a huge market of players, I have a friend who wants to play The Sims 4 as a new comer, and she only has a MAC so right their she won't be able to experience it from the get go, hopefully they release it within the first couple of months, if they even decide to release it whatsoever.
I would like to point out something I actually really do love about The Sims 4, is the loading screens surprisingly, I felt so overwhelmed by the open world with The Sims that having multiple people in my family took away the exploration, and the fun of me actually wanting to enjoy the world. Because I had to have Sims back at home, doing petty little free-will things, always thinking that I needed to keep all of my Sims in check, but now with the implantation of loading screens, if I want to escape one of my Sims for a while, and get away, I can. I don't have to bring my whole family with me, I can just focus on the needs and wants of one family member, and I like that personally.
Also the customization was getting to much for me, it took away from actually playing with my Sims, because I became such a perfectionist, in trying to make everything look the way I wanted it to, that by the time I had finished building a house, I could no longer be bothered to enjoy it with the Sims I had. And I think that's their aim with this game, is to bring it back to the Sims themselves, I do understand that people loved that element of the Sims 3. We just need to appreciate it for what it is, let's not forget how brilliant The Sims 2 was, and maybe this really will be a mix and best of both worlds having elements of The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. And also branching off and creating something entirely new with expansions, and whatever is set to come next.
