It's not entirely untrue though. Hilary may have never said October but Mediabase is generally very reliable so I think RCA sent that date and forgot to tell MB that it was no longer accurate and it got accidentally published. They have been saying Fall 2014 this whole year so if it does get pushed to Spring 2015 it will be a delayed album. Which is fine, Dignity was delayed too it just never ended up in the press as a delay.
I'm more curious about Hilary talking about finding more producers and people to work with these next few months. It makes me wonder if RCA is scrambling to put more dance/pop tracks on this record since CTS & now AAY are not doing so well.
@luvintothelight The rumor is that photoshoot is for the new website (which we still haven't seen yet).

Why on earth would they want more dance/pop tracks on the album when that's WHEN she began underperforming in the first place.
My guess is they want her to work with some big-name producers that are NY-based to get some more potential smashes under her belt. Remember, her album has mostly been done on the cheaper side with less famous producers/writers with the exception of Kotecha, Gad, and Sheeran.
This is basically going to become a Katy Perry album without the terrible lyrics and blandness.

I think the album will be release in march,as avril lavigne strategy in 2011. Next single in january. It could be a song by a mega producer, not for sure tatoo will be the 2 single.
I hope they promote all about you. This can help the next single to smash.

Well if they push back the album to Jan/Febr 2015 then Hilary could tease us with her EDM music for giving us some more music even though it's not going to be on the album. So hopefully I still get to speak to her in Sept/Oct when she is filming Younger, so I can ask her if she want to do that for us!
Don't forget Billy Mann! He is also a great producer and writer!
But if I was Hilary then I would bring it out in November. I think there are not many artist bringing a album out in November. The only ones I can see are Ne-Yo and Pink Floyd. But Hilary could be doing good in this month I guess.
Some we don't know yet when they will release their albums like; 1D, Madonna and U2. I don't think they will release before december. Because 1D is having a live CD/DVD coming out in December. Maybe Madonna will release in December.
But we just have to wait more! I really hope Hilary does Ryan Seacrest very soon! And also performances! Maybe sept 12th Ellen? Stuff like that! I think we would be happy if we see Hilary performing live and then it doesn't matter that we have to wait more months because we already waited for 7 years.

What are you talking about? Her tracks on Dignity like Stranger, With Love, Gypsy Woman etc. were all critically appraised. Dignity didn't sell as well as Most Wanted because Hilary had gotten older and begun moving away from Disney. She was never going to stay as popular as she was in 2004. You had even said it yourself, everyone who has commented on these songs would prefer Hilary to do more dance songs.
Now she has taken a seven year break so not only is her fan base not very big anymore but the tracks from this era have been sub par so far. CTS was full of terrible lyrics and the definition of bland and AAY doesn't have strong lyrics either and sounds like a mashup of a Avril Lavigne/Imagine Dragons/Taylor Swift song. It's one of the more generic tracks she has put out. It's still miles better than CTS and is a good song but it's nowhere near her strongest material imo.
Regardless, this album is not going to do anywhere near as well as her past ones. But they should at least attempt to put out music people are here for so that it will sell decent.

never stop sounds harsh but truth hurts. I too miss her Dignity years because honestly, musically that was her best year. I was hoping that this album STILL has that EDM sound mixed up with her new folk-pop-rock sound. It can make a pretty good combo.
I also agree abt how CTS actually is. It's a nice bop but then its also obvious why CC didnt include it in her album. Hil's vocals to didnt sound great there. AAY however is GREAT. Lyrically, it can get a lil' more creative but musically its a massive improvement. However the reason why maybe people aren't really paying attention much to her comeback (i guess) is bec of the song lengths and the fact that CTS was put out first.
Yes we don't know if she could sell as huge as she did. Judging from the current situation, it doesn't seem convincing. But I guess once huge promo is put out, things can get better. So I think it's kinda wrong to say that this upcoming album isn't going to do well as her previous ones. Time changes, she changes and oddly enough, I think people are getting quite sick of EDM bec folk-sounding artists are the 'in' thing now. I just think that she should mash-up EDM with folk so that it doesnt alienate us fans who were super into the Dignity sound.

I don't mean to be harsh. I am rooting for this album and Hilary but honestly, the music that she put out for Dignity was her best material and she sounded great. She should use her lower register much more. I actually am not into EDM (Dignity was not EDM) but if there is no dance music on this record I will sorely miss it. She said her musical influences for this record are Taylor, Katy, Mumford and Sons, and Sheryl Crow. I'm looking forward to the former, not so much the latter.
But I can't with the Katy Perry comment. Hilary's lyrics are on the same level and that's ok. And let's not also act like Dignity didn't do as well as previous albums because of the music and not her declining popularity.

There's no way Hilary will release any new music before her album besides the singles. Not only would that hurt the hype of new music but it would give people a completely wrong idea of her musical direction if she put out EDM songs and then came out with a folk album. I remember Taylor Swift talking about how she had to fight to record "Sweeter Than Fiction" because Big Machine wanted to make sure she had "new music hype" for what ended up being 1989.
And Hilary already said the album will be out "months" after Oct. so Nov. isn't happening. Plus she will be in the middle of filming Younger. It will be a shame if this misses Christmas sales though.

I have no idea when this album will drop anymore but March is 7 months away from when the first single dropped. Most RCA artists have albums dropping 2-4 months after their first single release. Even if March is a month RCA likes it seems WAY too far away from the first single.
Those artists with March albums have their FIRST singles released in January. If they chose that month for Hilary she would be putting out about 4 singles before the album even came out.

She needs to collab with someone popular if she wants a hit. I mean, look at Jessie J.

You are speaking from the perspective of a fan that sorely misses her old music rather than respecting Hilary's creative aspirations and the fact that she doesn't usually repeat herself. While the tracks you said were critically praised by most, you're also failing to mention that All About You has been universally praised by pretty much every critic. Most are enjoying the new direction, which may be a bit generic for indie-artists releasing to radio but not for full-on pop artists. But either way, we have already had the discussion of her probably having to release something generic first in order to have a hit.
While some people have complained a little about them wanting her to record dance songs, many have also said that they are obsessed with the new song as well. The problem here isn't necessarily the direction she went in, it's the lack of exposure, lack of airplay, and lack of promotion. CTS was literally on main news pages like Yahoo and others driving the views, which AAY hasn't had, at least not yet (because the music video isn't out).
Also, I stand by my Katy Perry comment. The lyrics on Dignity were miles ahead of anything Katy has done, whereas AAY and CTS are a little closer in nature, but still less for two-year olds beginning to learn how to speak. If you're complaining about CTS's lyrics you must not listen to many acoustic or MOR songwriters.

I have no problem with Hilary trying new sounds creatively. I loved her music through her pop, rock, and dance phases. I miss her old music simply because I thought it was better. The new material just isn't clicking with me as much. The whole reason why I brought up Dignity's critical acclaim is because you seemed to imply that the album didn't do as well as others because of its direction which was not the case. And when you say most are enjoying the new direction, you left out the fact that CTS was critically panned. AAY has gotten praise and I think it's a decent song. Unfortunately, it's not selling well and when you go to places that aren't populated by Hilary fans the reaction to AAY becomes much more mixed.
I do agree with you about lack of exposure, airplay, and promotion. Part of the problem was actually that CTS got so much exposure. It was the one that got the hype and it also put people off of Hilary's new music.
I wasn't talking about Dignity's lyrics. I was talking about the recent songs. If you go beyond the singles from Prism you will find that the lyrics become stronger. I don't even like Katy Perry I just don't like it when people bring up other artists with identical material strengths or weaknesses and then say their fave is better when they're not.

The direction also had a hand in the album underperforming. With Love got more airplay than Wake Up and Beat Of My Heart combined but that album sold three and a half times as much. Part of that is due to her popularity waning with her changed image and other teenyboppers coming at the time, but some were also not fond of Hilary's musical direction. It happens with every artist, look at Britney's latest album. CTS was not critically panned it had a few decent reviews, it was more of a moderate-to-negative reviewed song. We should be proud of AAY's critical praise though, it's the most she's gotten in her career and it means people are starting to take her more seriously.
Also I go to many pop forums outside of this one and AAY has pretty much been liked by everyone with few actual fans not liking it, rather than haters not liking it because it's Hilary Duff.
Not gonna comment on the Katy Perry thing anymore, we will have to agree to disagree. I listen to every album in full from every major artist so I always have an idea of what I'm talking about rather than going in simply knowing the singles.
I DO agree with you on something you mentioned earlier in the page though, she really should sing in her lower register more. It comes across sounding more natural for her rather than her higher register.
Also, one of Dignity's problems was being released so far away from the holiday season and not having a single out when the season came to sell. That's my biggest fear of this possibly/most likely being pushed back next year.
