I disagree. It's dated, sure, and there are a few tracks I would leave off but it's just such pure fun. I feel like I'm going out to a party when I listen to it.
OT: Am I the only one with a love/hate relationship with Brown Eyes? I kinda think it is one of her worst tracks but at the same time I can't stop listening because it makes me sentimental.

Was written before BTW, but it doesn't mean it was intended to be on BTW. She wanted it on ARTPOP, considered reworking/rewriting the song but I think she just left it as it was.

Brooklyn Nights not making it but Jewels N Drugs making it instead.
But I can understand. She wanted it to be a party album. Dope is a huuuuuuuge downer so I can see why she would only want one ballad on there.

It aged better than TFM imo. Doesn't make much difference to me though, they're both still great albums, but obviously TFM is better.

I've always loved it, for sentimental reasons and because it's an amazing song.

Okay, thanks. That's pretty interesting, the second verse sounds very at home on ARTPOP, but overall it sounds like it belongs on Born This Way.

I found an old pair of
Keys in my purse that opened
The walkup we shared
How did they get there, jerk?
I wanna see you there
I wanna make it work.
I didn't brush my hair
And my lashes are falling
Off of seven years
Of our bad luck dating.
I want one last night there,
A Brooklyn Night affair.
so relatable

In a certain place of mind, I can bop to Jewels N' Drugs And if anything, you have Mary Jane Holland to blame for Brooklyn Nights not making it on ARTPOP. I agree that MJH won though, because it's an amazing song and a great segue into Dope, with the two sides of marijuana.

The problem dance music has is that it does date rapidly as new production styles become trendy.
Her sort-of-dance/pop singles like Paparazzi, The Edge of Glory and Do What U Want are going to be the most resistant to dating.

I agree.
And funnily enough, the album that everyone seems to resent right now - Cheek To Cheek, which I will love so I don't include myself in that - will be the most resistant to aging. Jazz is timeless.

Paparazzi is already incredibly dated, but I think it will be remembered as a Gaga classic anyway.

tbh
If they ever rerelease The Fame [Monster] as a Gaga Greatest Hits album I hope they remaster Paparazzi with less squeaky vocals and more lush production

Paparazzi is the least dated of The Fame singles.

2010/2011 was her sonic peak with BTW.
2012 was ha CASH peak - BTW shows earning $1.76M per night (averaged) & FAME perfume.

What if these peaks will happen just in 2 years?? 2015-2017?? Rise Gaga Rise!!

No, Fashion!, DWUW and Dope are the ones to blame for BN not being on ARTPOP. MJH was always considered to be on the album but someone told her that she needed more "mainstream" songs so she had to chose which of her truly ARTPOP tracks would made it to the album (Temple and BN were left out), her last decision was to not pick BN because it sounded dated and MJH was hyped as one of the first songs.
If only we would have gotten her 100% ARTPOP Ratchet, Temple, BN, they died for our sins

They died because the Little Cheapskates can afford to go to ha tour and win twitter trends but can't afford to buy an album or two. #JusticeForArtpop

Yeah, I think she should re-record Paparazzi in a greatest hit album to sound more like the live version. The album version is the Swine of The Fame, great live but kind of grating and boring in album version

The only part I can agree with this is the final chorus - I always expect her to take the upper harmony in her lower register, sorta belting it, like she does in the VMA performance.. and it is just the same as the rest of the choruses. There's sorta a build that it doesn't meet.
