So no. PRISM is like a biggest BTW in a sense, maybe. BTW sold lots of albums though, especially considering the Amazon thing it still sold well (but I believe it was mostly because of the hype).

Don't forget the stadium tour that managed to bank $181M from just 98 shows. That averages out to roughly $1.76M/night!

The comparison is interesting, but Lady Gaga's BTW era was far more lucrative.

Not too fast with the promo shade when Birthday and Unconditionally had the Billboard Music Awards, The American Music Awards, The X Factor Live Final in the UK among other things between them and their reception was massively lukewarm.

I was just showing how stupid it is to consider BTW's success a hype-encompassed accomplishment. The album sold 300K copies in January 2012. The tour, started almost a whole year after Lady Gaga released BTW (the album) and over a year after the lead single banked insane numbers. Hype doesn't shift 7M copies of an album.

If anything, I am pretty certain that in the US Dark Horse and Roar individually were bigger than any single Gaga released off BTW.
