I don't know if the Hive made claims that Beyonce would draw huge ratings..but that's not the case here..
But in actuality, it's not that bad..considering some of the performers..but it was one of the worst VMA's I've witnessed..it just seemed unorganized.. Although Beyonce being a consummate performer couldn't save the entire show..

Army keeps forgetting 2011 had high ratings only because Bey announced her pregnancy on the red carpet and the peak was during her performance.
Navy also keeps forgetting that the year Rihanna opened with had very low ratings.
It's obvious that if it wasn't for Queen Beyoncé, 2014's show would've got like 5M viewers.
