I think if I were a Beyonce fan I'd be hyped since her performance is probably going to be great, but I just sort of appreciate her and that's not enough for me to want to tune in tbh. I also felt no excitement for 2012 either though (04-06 were also boring years IIRC). I think the fact that I'm not feeling most top 40 music in general these days has to do with my non-excitement.
Anyway, I LOVED that snippet she sang of Brooklyn Nights. She gave it so much emotion.
I really think the processed vocals and arrangement sucked some of the feeling out of the demo version. I also liked that she switched over to that lighter voice for some of it (which I think is her head voice? I'm not sure on these terms). The crowd singing along was amazing.
I also like that she's been doing some fan requests, it makes the concert seem more intimate.
