It seemed so fun that the VMA's in the 90's/early 2000's had nominees and performers from all different genres (rock, alternative, r&b, dance) competing and even legends like Paul McCartney, Madonna, Prince, Diana Ross, etc would attend the shows. Pandering to the teen girl demographic in the recent years has definitely kinda ruined the VMA's.
