Hell, if they are playing Adele (old music) yet talking about Taylor's new single...what does that say about their opinion? Lol. "We have new tunes to play but let's go to te vault for some oldies from Adele". Makes perfect sense to me lol
That doesn't make any sense..... Why would Adele hold off on releasing just because Taylor's releasing? That's so stupid. Taylor's not a threat to Adele, really. The only thing I can say is Taylor has a deal so that her song is getting played every hour by some radio stations and whatever, so that might stand in Adele's way at first, but Billboard said that usually that's the case with high-profile artists, so it's very likely Adele will end up with a deal like that, too. Regardless, though, Adele had to have been fully aware Taylor was releasing soon and I don't think she'd just not release it because of her; especially when she had all this other time prior to release it.
