Yes, this is probably the biggest. But it was also a very conscious decision, because it would have been greatly overrated on the countdown and there are simply much better songs to acknowledge with this list.
I was watching this thread from time to time. Should’ve voted on this during the first stage. I’m sending my votes for this stage. I got to say that I enjoyed the songs that were chosen. It’s definitely better than the taste of the average ATRL-er. However, there were notable snubs from my perspective. I can’t named them all, but I will share some. I Will Always Love You was a major snub. Another one was from 2008 and the snub I’m talking about was Duffy. I mean, both Adele and Estelle are here, but no Duffy? All three are a package deal represent the UK soul female artists trinity. Leona is above that trinity and she’s also not on here. I’m more sad that Duffy is not here. Like how 2009 was represented well with indie music, but there was no Bat for Lashes. Plus there was no Linkin Park or Maroon 5. Only one Coldplay and it’s from 2014. I like Magic, but still.
Despite that, it was tough to vote for only 25 out of all those songs. I wish I can listen to the ones that I haven’t listen yet. However, I’m already have got into deep with the songs that I’m familiar. So good. The majority of songs that I voted for are from a decade that I was a little kid and from that decade, the year I got into the most was the year I was born and judging on the amount of songs from that year, you guys did too. I guess the songs from a decade that I grew up with pales in comparison with the other decade. I will come back for the countdown, where I can really give my thoughts on it. Overall, good job.
The panel deliberately veered away from songs that would typically make lists like these - your Like a Prayers and I Will Always Love Yous.
Duffy was roundly REJECTED by the panel.

I submitted Mercy (It should've been Warwick Avenue but forget about it when I sent my list ) and literally got bullied in the chat when we were voting Duffy.
Blame Ace.
Ok, I understand. Thanks for the explanation. I respect you guys for wanting a much different countdown that strays from the typical stuff that is usually on other countdowns. In that case, I felt bad for not going back to listen to songs I didn't know to really make this countdown a standout.
Oh, damn! Duffy got no love and instead got hate. I like all of Duffy stuff especially from Rockferry. Mercy, Warwick Avenue (agreed that it's a better representation for her than Mercy) would've been good choices if they care for her music.
You guys are listening to all of them? I don't think anything too obscure made it.
There were relatively few songs I didn't know from the master list, and with most of them I only had to listen to 5 seconds on YouTube to say "oh duh I know this song!"
