I'm going to download her entire discography but do you guys recommend I listen from the beginning or are there certain albums I should listen to first? I think you should download Celebration Deluxe Edition because her discography is so diverse .....
Then, after checking her greatest hits set you can make up your mind on which direction you should follow.

For me, for example, her least interesting decade is the 80's and TONS of people love her exactly for that. Get it ?

Start with the "Music" album, then "Confessions on a Dance Floor" then "Ray of Light" then "American Life" after that just listen to her "Celebration" album which has all of early hits.

Ugh to discover Madonna is/was such a beautiful thing. And watch her docos! I just watched Truth or Dare for the first time during the weekend and it was weird to see her so young, yet still so in control and in command of her career. And of course the I'm Going to Tell You a Secret doco, fascinating. And Evita - probably the greatest thing she's ever done. My fave musical too!

Everyone recommending different wasy to get into her discography

"Like a Prayer" was the hardest for me to get into!! The personal ballads can be appreciated better by the time you "get to know" her So don't start with it

"Ray of Light" was one of the first I used though "Music" is an amazing but easy listen - start with THAT
