Pitchfork was at its most acclaimed and highest peak in 2009 when they gave MPP the album of the year and My Girls song of the year. I confess, I became a genuine follower. A stan whatever the **** you guys call it.
Pitchfork was at its lowest and most doubtful one year later in 2010 when they gave MBDTF a 10.0 and promoted Ye as the genius or best of our generation. The years that followed this huge event, I became more and more critical and last year was truly the pits imo. So far everything they've rated this year proves it.
They're cooler than ever though so I see more big things for them in the future, but I think a new site/magazine/person is gonna come along and snatch their most precious achievement during their rise:
