I wouldn't put it all on the ad providers. Basically, if we have to choose between members who are attracted by vulgarity and trolling and members who are repelled by it, we'd rather have the latter. So another reason for the gradual clean up is because when the upgrade finally goes live, we want to try and make ATRL the premier destination on the internet for pop culture discussion. And that will never happen if we don't put our foot down and enforce certain standards.

I'm not saying we'll ever be one of those dusty forums where you get banned for anything that is fun, but changing the face of the community is definitely a conscious and ongoing effort that has more to do with ATRL's future than with ad preservation.

That's all very true. Perhaps I was more concerned with justifying the initial imposition of these rules by pointing out the difficulties in even running without them, but this is all very true as well.

I want to ask why my original title for the thread (My ARIANAPOP Could Mean N. E. Thing?) was considered a problem. Obviously it was meant to be a complete joke and stupid, but the mod who gave me a point for it called it disruptive and basically told me my stupid title had nothing to do with the thread. I thought this just came off as taking it too seriously and looking for flamebait when that was not my intention. You would figure I would've gotten a point for a nickname, but I was actually called "disruptive".

I just thought it wasn't necessary. I was trying to be lighthearted and instead got reprimanded.

And then the mod re-opened my thread with a title I didn't really want. I didn't think the purpose of the thread was that serious and I don't see why I was warned.

ATRL mobile was fine last week so I'm not sure what happened this week. It's almost becoming equivalent to the desktop's "over capacity" messages. And I'm not complaining about it, as no one can really do anything, and that's fine, I'm moreso just stating a comparison.

You made a thread to predict Ariana's Metacritic score, titled it some nonsense to attract attention and got warned for being disruptive. It's a fairly straightforward case.
