But, as I've said before, RCA should release Alien, put together a decent video (not something cheap, but it doesn't have to be some big-budget masterpiece; something simple would fit the song), send it to radio, and see what happens. If it takes off, great. If it flops, no harm done.

I'll never forgive Jive for shelving The Original Doll, but at least they gave her the promotion, attention, etc. that she deserves. She should move to Republic or Capitol.

You guys have been so hard on RCA. Britney doesn't want to promote. I bet she doesn't even want to make more videos for BJ era. I think it's 50 (RCA) + 50 (Britney). If she refuses to do anything, why would they release more singles?

Britney said she wanted Alien to be released as a single, so clearly she isn't the one preventing it from happening.

The album could have been absolutely terrible (even though I personally think it was going to be amazing), but it was very clear that Britney was very excited for this album and wanted it to be released. I mean, she snuck off to a radio station and gave them a song to play without Jive's permission, so obviously she really cared about this music. It is sad that Jive prevented Britney from releasing music that she clearly had a strong connection to.
