if Taylor's sales are so high because country music fans buy music how come Miranda can only barely scrape platinum, while Kacey struggles to go gold. not to mention that Blake Shelton, and Hunter Hayes just passed platinum, while Luke and Carrie's albums sold less than half of what Red did. Let's break this down a bit more...
Unlike Beyoncé, Taylor has a proper record deal in which she heavily promotes her music (like most artists, fair enough) + she gets massive radio and sales support because her music is essentially basic pop ear-candy + she's already gained tons of fans over the years. Beyoncé is no longer at that point in her career...none of what Taylor has done eclipses Beyoncé's legacy over the past 11 years, never-mind her accomplishments with her back-up singers (DC)....Taylor is just not on her level yet.

As stated, Beyonce is American Royalty.

Beyonce has transcended music and her peers are now the likes of Michelle Obama & Oprah. She just recently won a NY poll as the most powerful woman in NY, even beating Hillary Clinton and the First Lady of NYC.

Taylor just does not have that power and probably never will.

The strastosphere Beyonce has reached is a whole new level, and has surpassed "sales." Her latest album may not have sold as much as "Red," but is clearly more impactful and has even spawned the music industry to potentially create a new global release date on "Friday."

So you guys can have the sales, because Beyonce has surpassed that. I also see that some of you continue to omit DC's accomplishments which adds to Beyonce as a brand and legend.

So to answer the question again.. Beyonce IS bigger than Taylor in the US.
