You guys have to keep in mind that a lot of people don't find out about things the way we do. Sure, all of us youngsters and avid fans knew about the livestream thanks to Her instagram, but there are so many people out there who wouldn't have heard about it. Plus Fallon caters to a bit of an older demographic. Most of the viewers were probably just hearing about the stream for the first time. Same goes for Her VMA performance. I don't think that was officially announced before now.

Honestly, is it that much of a stretch though? I mean, look at Red- it's definitely very "Taylor" but it takes inspiration from one of her idols (Joni Mitchell & Blue) I wouldn't be surprised if she did the same here
