Some would say Lil Wayne, Rihanna and T-Pain are influential, but I don't agree with that. I agree with Coldplay and Leona. Katy Perry I also agree with as influential. Other than that, I can't really think of anyone unless you wanna count Metallica.

We all love Britney, but she doesn't deserve a spot on the top 5 this year.

She earned a spot on that list from 1999-2003 and I think she'll be one of the top 5 in 2009 but as for now, she's not that influential. In terms of impact, she hasn't been as ubiquitous as any of the other 4 artists on that list by a long shot.

p.s. You all might hate me for this, but the Jonas Brothers belong on that list. They might annoy the hell out of a lot of you but there's no denying they've had a major influence on the whole tween generation of musicians this year and had a hand in writing a lot of mainstream music (i.e. Miley, Demi + phenomenal success of their albums + Camp Rock).

Sorry, but I couldn't disagree with you more. The Jonas Brothers are pure Disney manufacturing. Nothing original about them to me.
