There are over 1000 buy mode objects, and that does not include build mode. Ehaught58′s photos only show 800 items, including Sims 3 rewards and unlockable objects. Unlockable objects are acquired by leveling up to certain levels in careers, and the Sims 3 rewards are acquired by owning Sims 3 Expansion/Stuff packs
The Sims 3 only had like 500+ items. But I have a feeling most of TS4 items will be Decor items.
Judging by the how many are use in Screenshots.

The houses look amazing omg
I don't really know if my PC will handle the game, I mean I have 4GB of RAM, enough space on my hard disk, and the right processor, but I'm worried about my videocard.

I know that's why they did it. Tbh in the original version of the "online" Sims 4, there were only young adults. So when they changed last minute, they needed the quickest way out.
In saying that though, even though it's a quick finish, they have actually made it more realistic. Since Teens in the Sims take on 16 year old bodies, most 16 year olds are actually done growing, so having them so much shorter than Young Adults was always weird.
So I agree, it was obviously rushed into the game, but in someways it works anyway.
Maybe it's more realistic, but teens being shorter than young adults makes sense in the Sims. It makes them easier to tell apart and is a more subtle progression when it comes to height. As things stand in TS4 they go from child height to adult height in one age.
That and toddlers are my only real gripes about the game.
SimSupply, aka James, is a guy a follow on YouTube and he makes some amazing houses. He's just uploaded his first Sims 4 main build. http://imgur.com/a/cx4Wl
