What if the surprise is that she's finally left Kemosabe and can only now actually begin working on her next album.

The notion that a pop album should be released more than 3 months after the lead is annoying enough let alone a mainstream pop album waiting 5 MONTHS to be released after the lead single. Kesha is not on the level to pull off that long of a hype train no sir.

Im assuming this is meant to be insulting but I dont know what you're trying to insult.
Kesha can't pull off waiting 5 months to release her album after its lead single. She waited like what 3 months last time and she barely got like 80k first week. And that was with a respectably successful lead single.

Two-three months is the perfect amount of time between lead single and album release, imo. Lead single two-three weeks before album release, second single two weeks before album release, third single one-two months after album release. Then other singles can follow whenever accordingly.
I kinda don't even want anything this year anymore, because it just seems so late and I think that she'll be lost in the other releases alongside Rihanna, Taylor, Adele etc. if they happen. A new year may be best. But then again I don't really want any hype she's gained recently from Rising Star or her hair changes (it seems to actually be getting people's attention surprisingly) to be lost... I mean any effect from "Timber" is LONG gone, it'd be a shame to miss another opportunity.
Humouring the idea that there may be something coming at the end of the month, I'd like a release pattern similar to this:
Promo single: August 26, 2014
Lead single: October 21, 2014
Second single: December 30, 2014
Album release: January 20, 2015
Third single: March 3, 2015
Fourth single: May 12, 2015
...
Fifth single: July 21, 2015
Sixth single: September 29, 2015
Lead single (reissue): December 1, 2015
Reissue release: January 5, 2016
Second single (reissue): April 5, 2016
Everything after the ellipsis is obviously under extreme circumstances where she absolutely slays the game (a la Teenage Dream)... I'd love at least 4 singles though. And I'm still sticking with my promo single idea before the lead. I think it would really work in her favour, get her name back out there, and tide fans over until the lead single was ready to go.

Misanthrope has a point. Kesha is just not on the same level as other pop stars anymore, her hype will fade sooner than others
2 Months are good, 3could be too long

Ya even with my (terrible) era schedule I kinda agree with M too that two months between lead and album would be better.
I think it's also about pre-release singles though. Two months with one single would be good, three months with one single is too much. But three months with two singles prior to album release seems fair.

Well, if she releases a single in October than thats kind of contradicting your point about her getting lost amidst the other releases. Because then she'd still be releasing alongside all of those other artists. But anyway, on the contrary I don't think she'd necessarily get lost, not if the song sticks. Releasing amidst others could be good because it means she could potentially be apart of a bigger pop culture moment and that could give her more relevance than if she was essentially releasing all by herself and no one cares. At least in releasing amidst others she could get swept up in the raging river.

It wasn't really it just looked like that cause of the running gif
Applause would have done amazing if she didn't rush release with Katy
i completely agree with you Gaga waited like maybe 2 months and still didn't do that great for her standards so K needs 2 months max wait between lead single and album

Well as I said I don't really want her releasing anything this yeah tbh but if it's gonna happen it's gonna happen, can't really stop it. She'll just have to accept that Taylor, Rih and Adele are going to overshadow her just like they did in 2012-13. But for the sake of keeping with the rumour that we may be getting something at the end of the month, I tried to set it up so that we would still get music this year, with the majority of the era happening in 2015. But yeah, I'll be the first to admit that it's a pretty bad era plan.
Her single may, and probably will, do well, but her album sales would certainly suffer. The industry's sales are already plummeting without having to go against two of the biggest album sellers that we still have (Taylor and Adele) and one of the biggest pop stars out there (Rih) who'll be in demand since she's coming off her first actual break since... the beginning of her career? Yeah. So it's even bigger competition than just Rih, Bruno and Taylor that she had in '12 and she still lost.
Either way I'm not all too fussed about the ~~success~~ of the era for bragging rights or whatever, I'm just more concerned about it because lack of success equals lack of interest in her and then there's less singles with videos and more waiting time. It's just no fun when an artist releases a good, fun album and nobody's here for it and it's managed poorly so it just kinda gets looked over. It's like you've waited for nothing. But as long as the music's good that's the main thing, I guess.

Gaga wasn't going to do great regardless of how many months there were inbetween for a myriad of reasons the 2 most prominent being peoples stubborn attitudes against her and the fact that ARTPOPs concept was a recipe for overall dissatisfaction from both a critical and consumers viewpoints.
I think 2 months is reasonable. For Kesha I think even 1 month would be reasonable. Imagine if she had released Warrior amidst Die Youngs peak success? Maybe she would've done 100k instead of that pathetic 80. Who knows.

I dont think Adele is guaranteed competition for someone like Kesha. 21 was beyond succesful but that kind of success is hard to match. While its a given that her next record will be given much attention, I dont think itll receive even nearly the same amount of Top 40 dominance. Rihanna and Bruno will probably be the main competition and they have a hold on radio, but to be honest, radio can be pretty kind to Kesha as well. What will really help her out? Some critical love, maybe not critical acclaim because thats kind of reaching for the stars imo, but some love thrown her way. These days, when the critics are even leaning on your side, so is everyone else.

well i cant argue with you there
Yes 1 month would be ideal
she should do the talyor swift weekly buzz track route
Lead single > week > week > Buzz single > week > Buzz single > week > Album
net that 120k debut smash

Buzz singles would NOT work for Kesha in the way they worked for Taylor. No way. I mean look at the mess that was the 'Cannibal' release. 6/9 tracks we'd already heard before release.
1 month seems way too short for album release though, don't y'all kinda think? Most singles don't even take off until around 2-3 weeks after initial release. At least 2 months. 2-3 is perfect.
And I think Kesha can get 100k opening week this time, at least. I mean Obviously I'd be hoping for more 250-300k for her sake but if Gaga can barely scrape that then Lorde knows Kesha won't touch that. 100k is far more likely for an act like Kesha. But, anything could happen with the RIGHT lead single, not just a HIT lead single... there's a difference.

I definitely think she needs two singles before the album is released - one a dancier track and the other a more experimental track that will slay and get peoples attention. I think 3 months would be fine is she released 2+ singles.
