I'd love to know what all exactly they had planned when it came to tech - it was geared up to be a huge part of the era if Aura is anything to go by. It seems that she has replaced it with this rave theme. I think Volantis not working out kind might have put the skids to that.
Yeah a tech cover would have been perfect. She was being consistent with that theme in the beginning of the era by serving some sleek clean looks
Isn't the second one the "YASSSS GAGA" outfit? lol
But yeah, she looked great at the beginning of the era. She looked so fresh, and I really love the honey blonde on her, I feel like that's actually her best hair color.

All of the techy parts of the era seem to be side projects though. The app, volantis, fiber optic wig, and the bubble dress 2.0. Nothing really serious. I think the "rave" aspect was always going to be included because she called this album TFM's rave little sister.
Currently sitting here bawling my eyes out at this song. "I'll never talk again...and I'll never love again..." Such a powerful, unwavering declaration of love, and the perfect description of my life for the past four years. If my dreams do come true, and I do make it big in the music industry, I'll definitely be covering this song on an album.
Please excuse me as I go have a good cry in the shower. That usually brings me back down to earth.

One of her best performances ever along with DWUW Alan Carr and MTN with that giant pink bow.
Do y'all wanna list your fav of artpop era related things? I'm going to anyways cause #freedom and for #love
- fiber optic wig
- GUY video
- previews of Swinefest
- sexxx dreams... Wish the slower demo comes out
- potential Kendrick Lamar feature
- the first time listening to DWUW. That song was too repetitive and basic for single treatment though
- Xtina, the Lotus queen, and patching up 2008-2010 Bionic Massacre
- the time the photo leaked and that dinner party with BTW mini cakes and hype of a hopeful and redeeming era, oop at that
- Artpop title track, first version
- the deception NOBTR releasing since she played it in the car
My favorite moments of this era were VMAs, DWUW release (and seeing Beats commercial on TV), and the G.U.Y video. Swinefest was pretty amazing, I loved being on Twitter during that. She really could've kept all oft he DWUW remixes though, I used none of them.
Gaga this era reminds me of my friend. Last summer, she said she wanted to start a baking business, and I wanted to help her, so I became like her PR manager. And I started booking her for things - I put up fliers, I started a Facebook and Twitter, I got her a boot at one of our local road shows and at the local fireworks demonstration. Things were actually going well, but then, she just lost interested and didn't want to do it anymore.
It seems like that's what Troy was doing for Gaga this era. He was guiding her direction, telling her to do things that he thought would rebuild her brand into something new and exciting (which, honestly, probably would have). He wanted to take her career in a new direction, but Gaga wasn't having it, so she fired him. Stupidest decision she'll probably ever make tbh, because Troy new what he was doing. He probably had so many things planned for this era that were lost and abandoned once he was fired. The entire technology aspect of this era, the stripped/minimalistic fashion, the marketing ... it's like the minute he was fired, Gaga ditched it all and reverted back to her old self.
Makes me wonder if she'll ever be able to evolve and keep re-inventing herself, because it seems like she doesn't want to, and this business, especially for someone in her position, it's completely necessary.
True gem. The 80s wanna be uplifting anthems totally dragged down the spotlight on edgy tracks like BM on the album
Tbh I feel like the first sign Gaga was up to no good was when the BtW cover leaked. Such tragedy..... It's heartbreaking. All of her cover art were nice and she said f u pop music I'm gonna be messy

My top 5:
1. The first time listening to DWUW & it's subsequent slayage on iTunes
2. Swinefest - she was perfect, and the songs were amazing & better than the album versions
3. G.U.Y./"ARTPOP Film" hype & video
4. SXSW puke performance
5. ARTPOP track list reveal - that was so clever & got everyone hyped

Hmm, IDK about this romanticizing of Troy. I think he was a good manager, but you have to admit he had some wack ideas. Like that FarmVille **** was so corny and I'm sure it made them both some $, but that type of dumb stuff can really taint a brand in the long run IMO. His vision of marketing ARTPOP like a prestige indie movie also sounded kind of stupid and potentially ineffective. In the end it's all on Gaga's creative power & her A&R. If she comes up with smashes she's going to do good. If she comes out with some wack **** like Applause things are going to go south no matter how she's being managed.
