Sorry let me rephrase what I said - the slurs are unacceptable out of context, but the reason they are slurs is because of the incident they were published/used in conjunction with. Like...they're offensive BECAUSE of WWII and that's a headline from WWII...I don't know how to phrase it.

That's what I'm saying, there is literally no plausible reason, I think the graphic designers just went to whatever stock art database they use and didn't realize/didn't bother checking what the images actually were.
