If you don't want to download the game now, I'd say at least secure yourself the actual game by going through the process so you can download the game later on when you're free and still actually have the game through origin ( once it's claimed you keep it forever on that account). The last day to do this is July 31, 2014 at 12 p.m. central time so if you don't have it legit or want a copy you can reference to on the internet at any time this is really really good.

Ok, I forgot how much fun Sims 2 was. This ultimate pack is great, I only used half of the original expansion packs and none of the stuff packs, so much to rediscover. It's also nice that it actually runs well on my computer, forgot what that was like due to the Sims 3 being such a resource hog. I can't believe the base game came out 10 years ago, it doesn't feel like it's been that long somehow.

I played it for 5 hours today. FIRST TIME IN FOUR YEARS. Man, it felt SO good to be playing again. I'd never play The Sims 3 for five hours, you just lose interest quickly. The Sims 2 is something you have to force yourself to call a day on.

When I first originally played it, I only had University, Open For Business, Pets, Seasons and The Celebration Stuff pack. Considering I started playing when I was 12, my Mom wouldn't let me play Uni or Nightlife. She let me play OFB, Pets and Seasons because they were friendly enough for my age at the time. I got University when I was 15, but I never really got a chance to fully explore it because that was in 2009 and I started going out more because of high school social activity...plus that year sucked for me so I got into trouble a few times plus I was an emotional disaster.

So to be able to play everything that I didn't get to play is just great. I went to Downtown for the first time ever and had three dates.

Not to mention, it was great to be playing with fire again. The Sims 3 really sucked the fun out of fire considering Sims aren't stupid enough to walk through fire in that game as opposed to the Sims 2 sims and the fire still goes on when the Grim Reaper shows up. It sucked when the Grim Reaper immediately stopped the fire in The Sims 3.

Too bad because I think I already have all of the physical copies of 2 and I don't play it anymore anyways. I'm not even sure if I have all the CC I had before.

2 was quality but there are things it was lacking (more options with CAS like create a style, open world). I don't know 3 is pretty fun to me but 4 omg it sounds like a hot ass mess.

The game is 10 years old. Most of us have already bought The Sims 2.
The Sims 2 is literally so old that EA would lose more money hosting the game and putting it on shelves, than to give it away for free. Whereas they will still make money from the Sims 3 for the next few years.

There is nothing wrong with giving us this for free. I don't understand how it would be disgusting if we get it for free.

Origin and Steam are two different things though.

Origin have better sales since Origin is just for EA games. Steam is for all games. There is no comparison to make.

It works in the US, Canada and Australia. I know people in Canada can get it to work, but I'm Australian and it works here too.
