Hamas is NOT synonymous with Palestine; and is NOT the only Palestinian authority.
Hamas governs the Gaza Strip, not Palestine.
I have explained why the Gazans can't 'simply' overthrow them, it's not really an open option.
That's such a first world answer. Like I said, it's not that easy nor that black and white..
There is no set "Palestinian" authority, and no you didn't explain why the people of Gaza can't or won't overthrow Hamas. Palestine is not a country.
I'm so confused I have a friend who is Circassian and she says Palestine has done nothing wrong
The people of the region (whatever you want to call it) elected a body that is attacking a nation that is stronger than them. They can't or won't remove them.

It depends how you look at it. Has Hamas done stupid things that did not contribute anything to get stability? Yes they have. But if you look at the bigger scale.
If you are trapped mouse into a corner, would you vote for a party that swears to fight back or for a party that tells you sit still and take it?

Both choices have consequences. The people of the region are suffering from that choice. Again, THEY need to make a change if they want it to end.

Well, Hamas is the only group that shares some of their interests.
Most Palestinians don't approve of Hamas's methods but considering Hamas won't allow elections, they can't overthrow them.
Also, to them, Israel is the greater evil.
I mean, you can't tell me one of the best equipped military force in the world,
has no valid means or ways to avoid killing this much civilians.
Truth of the matter is, Israeli government cares about Palestinians just as much as Hamas cares about Israelis.
Now,
bringing up the case of the 'warnings' isn't very helpful because they have already proved to be highly unsuccessful,
if they really cared they would have found far more effective means.
And regarding the cease-fire;
Hamas wanted to end the siege of Gaza before a ceasefire,
which seems to fit perfectly with the 'Hamas is fighting against the forces trying to destroy them'.
So that's what's really keeping a lot of Gazans in support of them.
Even an Israeli premier acknowledged the fact that Palestinians can't overthrow Hamas;
Quote:
"One day the Palestinians will topple Hamas' rule in Gaza. If the Palestinians could, they would overthrow Hamas, and believe me, one day they will,"

Even an Israeli premier acknowledged the fact that Palestinians can't overthrow Hamas;
The Palestinians need to create another political party. If Hamas will not allow elections then they are not a legitimate government and that is an issue unto itself. Plus, if the Palestinians want the siege to end BEFORE a cease fire, then they brought this on themselves. These people have agency to make change like everyone else.
Concerning Israel, what would these "more effective means" be? Should they give two warnings to allow the terrorists to escape?
Debunking Israel's 11 Main Myths About Gaza, Hamas and War Crimes

You've got to hand it to Israeli spinners like Mark Regev. They are masters of PR. In fact, as the Independent's Patrick Cockburn revealed over the weekend, "the playbook they are using is a professional, well-researched and confidential study on how to influence the media and public opinion in America and Europe".
After all. Palestinians are sub human and don't deserve things like electricity or clean water. Hell... maybe Israel is just doing those children favors by killing them before they can starve?
So I am currently in Amman, Jordan. I left the West Bank yesterday around 5PM to catch my flight at Wednesday 3AM in Jordan (all those border crossing checkpoints take a long time to pass) . And it was cancelled, unsurprisingly. They said it's because of the weather in Frankfurt (heading to Germany then back to the States) but I call BS. A lot of people are saying it is because of this conflict and that makes much more sense than "bad weather" because we would be flying right through Israel. So who knows, maybe my flight will be cancelled yet again tonight.
