Can there be a new rule where distressing threads like this are banned:

Or threads like "girl burns turtles alive" or "teen boy throws puppies into heavy river" or "man films himself beating dog, gets beaten in return."
I can handle hardcore ****ographic gifs being posted when trolls have meltdowns and don't care about getting banned. But I really don't like seeing threads like that. It's easy enough to ignore them, and not go into them. But when you see them at the top of The Lounge or as one of the 3 most recently updated threads next to the ATRL logo, you're instantly reminded of it.
I know we can't sugar-coat the world, and disgusting tragedies like that often happen, but a lot of us come to ATRL to escape how horrible this world can be, and just enjoy talking about pop stars and laughing at funny videos. I find stuff like that far more vulgar and graphic than a picture of Rihanna's bruised face after Chris beat her, which can get you 2 points for 2 months for 'graphic.' Graphic as it is, everyone on this site has seen that photo, and she fully recovered. But a 3 year old girl is dead...bashed to death by her own father, and every time the thread gets updated, I'm reminded of it, even though I don't want to think about it anymore.
It's just food for thought. Graphic doesn't have to be an actual picture. Something you read, especially when it's truth, and a saddening truth like that, can also be graphic.
