It did for Girls Aloud. They performed their ballad The Promise last week and it garnered them the highest weekly sales of the year with 77K (until the X-Factor single beat them in a day, of course). Britney can atleast manage 70K as well if her performance is brilliant as usual.

I think Britney can average a good 45K until the physical anyway.

First week sales: 55K
Second week sales: 48K
Third Week Sales: 45K
The week of the X-Factor performance along with the physical: 72K
The week of Circus' release: Another 55K

Again, if all goes according to plan.

Yes, sinse Britney is at a disadvantage next week with only her digital being released and Leona's song already very popular on the airplay charts+both her digital and physical coming out and shes the UK's darling and with Hero still selling alot most likely.

I dont expect Britney to go #1 that week, but I'd say she has a really good chance once she performs on X-Factor(which supposedly Nov. 29th)

I really dont care for a UK #1 Single anyways.

I don't really care that much about a #1 single, but I really want her to earn her first UK #1 album. Thanks Travis, Whitney Houston, Eminem, Eagles, & now Take That for preventing her from doing so.

But it doesn't mean that Womanizer's chances for #1 are forever lost though. Hopefully the track only manages 2 weeks at #1. Worst case scenario: it could remain at #1 until Take That take over.

I'm worried that the song may prevent Britney from another Irish #1 but I think she has more of a probability managing that than the UK #1.

And by the way, Britney is way more popular than Take That in Ireland.

Take That will probably sell around 300,000 copies first week. Their last album sold close to 3 million copies over there.

Best case scenario: 85-100,000 copies. And I'm saying that because she is marginally more popular than Girls Aloud in the UK, who only just managed the highest first week sales of 77K. X-Factor averages 10 million viewers weekly in the UK, so I'm being very optimistic here.

Worst case scenario: 40-50,000 copies. Which even then would be higher than Gimme More's week with the physical when it sold 32K - with an endearing video, no promo, and minimal radio airplay & it went on to have an excellent chart run (not as amazing as Piece Of Me's though. ).

November-December sales are the highest period in sales during the calendar year. Even Gimme More's sales started to keep afloat in November selling 10-15K per week when it was in the top 20.

And digital sales are much higher than they were last year despite the death of the physical single.

Britney Under Permanent Conservatorship

Lawyers in the Britney Spears conservatorship case have just asked the court commissioner to make her conservatorship permanent. And the judge said she would grant the request.

The conservatorship was scheduled to end on December 31.

Sources say one reason why Brit & Co. wanted to extend the conservatorship is that it makes it easier for her to regain custody of her kids -- the family law commissioner will feel more comfortable giving her added face time if there is a safety net.

The conservators will now also be responsible for handling her business affairs and career opportunities.

As for why they suddenly asked for a permanent conservatorship -- we're told the commish doesn't want to keep extending temporary power...that it makes more sense to make the conservatorship permanent and then just lift it when Brit is safe and sound.

Under the permanent conservatorship a medical team will oversee Britney's career to make sure what she does will not compromise her mental health.

The commish said, "The conservatorship is necessary and appropriate for the complexity of financial and business entities and her being susceptible to undue influence."
