GGGB was huge but the TD era sold 70m records had 6 number one singles Katy made enough money to be included on Forbes Celebrity top 10. The album is charting/selling after 4 years, it means she is a great catalogue seller.

....if rih would have released a album like teenage dream and rereleased it and had like 6 number singles and all that promo in the two to three years Katy prompted that record.... Rih would have sold like 12 million at the least cuz loud sold the same amount with half the promo...three big singles and the era didn't even last a full year so Rihanna's success is better

And at the same time Rihanna releases 3 albums in the time span it takes Katy to release one.

Rihanna doesn't need to put in effort because many of the times she's promoting a LEAD single. Katy is always promoting follow up singles which need a lot more promotion than lead singles because they don't have hype. It's common sense, but keep using this "Rihanna doesn't put in as much effort" drag.
