Well, a lot of her fans probably wanted another I'm Not Dead or Funhouse. I can see why they're irritated because her music sounds more pop and recent now, but the funny thing is that it's still above all the other pop girls'. Her lyrics remain flaw-free, too. The Truth About Love is my favorite album from her but I can see why some of her fans don't like it as much.
That's understandable; lyrically, I still think her songs are masterpieces. The music isn't as original for a lot of the songs but it's still unlike anything any other pop girl has ever done and it's absolutely flawless.

her voice and lyrics put her in several classes above all the other pop girls--yes. but for a couple of years now, musically her songs have sounded too much like avril, katy or kelly. there's nothing special there anymore. to me, the most recent proof of that is the comparison between the original try and greg kurstin's production of the song... personally, i prefer the original much, much more and would've loved it if pink kept it as close to it as possible.

I get what you're saying. I think the musical elements that are being used in some of her more recent work is similar to artists like Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne, but I still think her music is diverse enough to be considered her own and it's still way above the other pop girls. But her music isn't as original anymore, it's just better than the other pop girls'. I still like her newer music better, I think, but I totally get what you're saying. I never knew the "Try" demo existed but now that I've listened to it, I am curious to know how P!nk's voice would've sounded on a stripped down version like that. "Try" still turned out pretty flawless, though, so I don't mind.

So guys... I'm leaving for vacation. It's my VERY FIRST vacation with a girlfriend ever and I'm scared beyond belief.

I'm going with my girlfriend, a friend of hers and her boyfriend (that poor guy though, going on vacation with THREE girls!)
We're going to Colonia de Sant Jordi on the island of Majorca, and my girlfriend has never been on a plane before so I'm scared she'll have SEVERAL meltdowns.
I packed my bag, I just have to close it now. And I'm scared it's too full

I won't be able to come on here and read y'all I think, but I will be checking my Facebook from time to time, because we have WiFi at the hotel.
So PLEASE, guys who have me on Facebook: INFORM ME about EVERYTHING! I want updates on what you are discussing here and of course if there are news every day, or at least every two days.
I will miss reading all your hilarious conversations. 
I'll be back on August 6th.

Someone who names Janis Joplin as her biggest influence and whose dad played Bob Dylan on the acoustic guitar all the time has those roots. She also stated that she needs to do pop songs to start a touring career. These are her words not mine.

awww nina! i hope you have a great, great time on your trip! and the most important thing: ENJOY! i know that it's the first time with your gf and that everything can get stressful, but turn that stress into a "challenge" that you are looking forward to and that you want to enjoy

yeah, i like pink's cover of try. but i kinda like the video much more than her song. the original goes much deeper IMO and i have no clue why kurstin got rid of the build-up and the choir ending. it was gorgeous.
maybe it's cause she hired avril and kelly's producers for i'm not dead that they tried to pivot her into that direction--successfully. seriously, if it weren't for her voice and lyrics, the music just might as well could have been sold to katy. not all of her discography post-TT, i should add. there are gems here and there of course.
