I have - yes. There's like black blocks underneath the characters and it took around 15 minutes to start up.

Other major problems included crashes, texture glitches, etc - but it ran smoothly graphic wise.

I believe I read somewhere that shadows have to be on minimum or lower for Windows 8. That's what those black blocks are from.

Whew has time for that.

Anyways, I hope you do use cheats? The game is too annoying w/o cheats.

Press Ctrl + Shift + C to open a menu to type commands.
Type 'motherlode' over and over to gain 50,000 each time.
Type 'testingcheatsenabled true' then type 'MaxMotives' to make their need bars (hunger, energy, etc) go to maximum.
