Frankie is a very strong person and he's super passionate about this game, I think he'd just need some time to recover inside the house and he'd bounce back. Plus he can always milk it and play the pity card.

No, Frankie and his family were celebrating his grandpa beating cancer before he went into the house. Falling ill again was an unexpected side-effect of the treatments.
And he wouldn't "milk the pity card" because he was actually close to his grandfather and isn't a total piece of ****.
