There's conflicting opinions in the academic world about how many licks it takes to get to the centre of the uhhh because their tests have all come up with different results.
- The University of Cambridge says 3,481 licks.
- Purdue University says 364 licks (when they used a 'licking machine') but their average was 252 licks when they used 20 volunteers.
- The University of Michigan says 411 licks.
- Swarthmore College had a median of 144 licks (with a range of 70 - 222)
- Harvard says 2255 licks to get to the centre.
So there's actually a really wide range of conflicting opinions. Hope this helps.
