I find her Pathetic for releasing so many singles and her album is not selling as she expected it!
and yet her singles are all hits!
if Beyonce/Britney has those hits she might be 10M now!

Keep dreaming, ass.
Rihanna has sold 11 million digital tracks from GGGB in the US alone. And her album is at the 6 million mark WW. Beyonce couldn't accomplish that even when she HAD promotion for her last album (every song was given a video + a re-release + a countless string of singles).
And Britney has a core fanbase of sales that she can always count on, but unless she delivers the goods, people for the most part are not going to buy her album. Britney has an advantage over Rihanna, but that doesn't really account for much these days in terms of sales.

You remind me of generic horror movies. You're nice and reasonable most for the time but whenever Britney's name is being mentioned, you turn into a miserable monster. LMAO. That post didn't even make sense. Sorry.

Sorry you feel that way Mazen. I'm not trying to be a buzzkill about Britney. I was just pissed that Champ was insulting Rihanna when GGGB has been about as successful as an album can be these days.
My point is, If Britney had recorded GGGB, it probably would've only sold a million or two more. It wasn't an insult.

Now even with the holding up in the top ten, I still can't believe this isn't past 2 million.
|
ITZ only had two top 20 ONLY singles, and this bitch has like 8 #1 already, a re-release (of a re-release coming soon!) and STILL can't pass 2 millions. LMAO
Remember when Umbrella was #1 for a month straight and Blackout and GGGB were hovering around 800K? That was really sad.

Sorry bobby, but Mazen is right - Although I wouldn't have used the, err, rude words he used to tell you that.
And no, GGGB hasn't been as successful as an album can be these days. Let's take Alicia Keys. If she had had as #1 hits as Rihanna did with this album, plus a re-release, I'm sure as hell she would have sold at least 5 million by now. She had ONE #1 big hit and sold over 3.5 million. And why's that? Fanbase mostly. That's why I agree that people like Beyoncé and Britney would have at least doubled Rihanna's US sales by now on the same circumstances.

I agree with you in a way, but in a sense I agree with Bobby. 11 million digital tracks sold is amazing indeed.

You could be right, but I guess we'll never know. If "Circus" or "I Am..." contain as many hits as GGGB then maybe your theory will get tested.
I was looking at Rihanna's success on a global scale, and not just in the US. GGGB has sold over 4 million copies outside the US while As I Am only sold 2 million outside the US. And Alicia has sold less than 4 million digital tracks from AIA while Rihanna has sold 11 million from GGGB.
Rico posted a comment months ago about how Britney sold over 3 million digital tracks from Blackout and how if this weren't the digital era, most of those digital singles would have actually been album sales. Shouldn't the same standard be held for Rihanna?

Anthony pretty much summed up. Alicia sold nearly 4 million with only single really. The other tracks failed to be as big of a hit or as relevant. If she had hits coming after "No One" the album could've gone farther.
Rihanna has no fanbase, she just has fans, if that makes sense. Meaning the minute she messed up or began to flop she couldn't just come back.

Yes, it makes perfect sense. Her label better keep paying the DJs to play her songs, otherwise she's doomed.

I agree with Bobby here. It kinda should be that way for everyone in this era.
I disagree with Rico again. She does have a fanbase, but unlike the ones mentioned (Alicia, Britney, Beyonce) her fanbase hasn't really blossomed yet...it's still in the growing stages. Let's give her another 2-3 years.

That's if she's lucky to get another 2-3 years in the spotlight.

you are an idiot. Her songs are fun, catchy, and every song on GGGB is a single material that's why they get so much airplay.

Alicia, Britney, Beyonce didn't take 6 years to have a fanbase blossom....

It's hard to keep both single sales and album sales good at the same time ... So GGGB is already quite a successful album in a sense.

Oh, you're nice. Anywayz, radio airplay is not about the quality of the song nowadays. If you checked the charts you would know that.
