yeah, people in this thread are totally delusional. i'm sure beyonce has had some role in writing some songs but the amount of writing she does for her songs is probably exaggerated

You honestly can't think of any reason? Let me help you.

1. Time (Beyonce is a busy lady. And lately she records like 70+ songs for an album. That's a lot.)
2. Teamwork (Things are often better with the input of others)
3. Fresh ideas (If Beyonce wants to grow as an artist she would need to expose herself to other people's ways of thinking)
4. Working with people you trust is fun
5. Generosity (Help other artists)
6. Insecurity (Maybe Beyonce doesn't want to rely completely on herself all the time)
7. Multitasking (Why not have multiple people working with you at once?)
... you could just go on with speculations. It's not that hard to imagine why someone in her position would collaborate. In fact, most of the popgirls who aren't dragged for their songwriting frequently collaborate with many other writers.

Perfectionist Hurts. If you think about it, it falls in line with her personality. Why would she put out a song without getting a second opinion and when she did get that second opinion, why wouldn't she include that feedback in the song (and give the person credit for it)?

Beyonce isn't listed as a songwriter because BC Jean threatened to sue her, Beyonce came to a settlement with her where they would duet to help BC's career (which never happened).

That quote proves two things: 1) she lied about coming up with the idea, 2) her father is extremely calculating and was focused on making her seem like more than she was, particularly in the songwriting department. Those two things absolutely add evidence to the claim that she does not write her own songs at all, and just changes very minor things and claims publishing.

Frank Ocean had not worked with her but he was actively involved in the music industry and I'm sure knew producers who had worked with her.

because in mainstream pop/urban music scen.
beat makers, producers take credit for their beats.
see DIL credit. 6 of them is simply there for their beats in the songs.

My point isn't that Bey is the best songwriter or whatever. It's that the credit she earns is justified by some measure. Proving she's written songs is supposed to show that she's capable of more than just single word or melodic changes. That's ALL.

But it's a spiral downwards trying to get that point across. It goes like this:

They're literally writing the songs as they go. It's very organic.
