What is this tragic mess when it comes to mobile ads?

When I browse from my iphone 5C, a page loads and I can maybe see it for 3-5 seconds but then it suddenly reloads with a mobile ad. It reloads on the same tab I'm browsing atrl on so I cant avoid it. I can't read or post on mobile. HOW DO I MAKE THIS STOP?!


also is there a way to change my username? I'm much less vulgar than when I signed up lol.

First of all, yes, the staff do visit this thread and they are aware of the issues with mobile ads. They are working towards a proper on-site solution and if everything goes according to plan, those redirection ads will be completely gone after we update.

However, for now, the only solution is to use one of these techniques. Everyone seems to experience different types of ads; if your biggest issue is ads that redirect you on the same page/tab then disabling Javascript is the most appropriate solution, assuming you aren't using any JS-heavy sites on other tabs. It's all explained in that link.

As for your username, the only way to change it right now is to purchase ATRL+. However, after our update (estimated to come Winter 2014) you'll be able to change your name with something called ATRL+ Credits, which can be earned or bought for a lower price than the current ATRL+. You can learn more about that here.

Search is sometimes faulty/ I looked up "Sky" and there was no results. That's not true.

It's not that the function is faulty, it's just that vBulletin doesn't allow searches that are too short or common. You may have better luck using Google (search sky site:atrl.net) and changing the time Past 24 Hours (if you're looking for something recent). It's a bit of an inconvenience, but it's really the only way with our current software.

If you're looking for a specific phrase like sky is blue, you can search "sky is blue" (with quotations) but it will only show results for that EXACT phrase.

My IP at home has a lot of trouble connecting to ATRL, forcing me to use a slow ass proxy. Can you help me fix this?

Is there something up with the ads because on mobile they always just pop up and change the page and its mostly naughty sites I know it ain't my phone because its only when I'm on ATRL. What can I do to fix this?

Come back into this thread as a guest and copy your name (☈evolusion), then paste it into the username field on the log-in screen; before logging in be sure to check the box beside Remember Me to avoid the hassle of having to go through this process again. I know the ☈ appears on iPhones, but I'm not sure about other devices. Regardless, the unicode should remain intact and will still act the same when you copy/paste the character.

Just for your information, I've recently been having a problem on the mobile site whereby the page will load properly but anywhere that I click directs my to https://www.hivelocity.net for some reason. Refreshing the page clears the problem but it's becoming more and more common recently. I don't know if you're aware of this problem so I just wanted to bring this to your attention.

Can we get rid of that advertisement that takes up the entire screen until you wait for the x to come up or watch that idiotic advertisement for some lifetime show i do not want to watch. I will probably stop coming here if that stays up.

Just wanted to give an update, and I'm not sure who is having the same problem as me but I have restricted the app-store from opening up however the problem now is, I'm still directed to a webpage. And usually this webpage is nothing. And this happens every time I click something on mobile ATRL. Again, not sure if anyone else is having this problem.

!! Mobile is UNUSABLE now.

EVERY page it redirects you 3-5 times. The laziness is real. CONTACT them ad providers.

As of every page i click on now, even during this reply in fact, I get this lifetime show advertisement taking up my entire screen. Maybe I need a break from this forum over these kind of pop ups. Its just terribly irritating
