My least favorite song on BTW is the title track. Everything else is
Americano, Bad Kids, and Highway Asia (Road to Freedom) are all underrated and polarizing! Probably the best bonus tracks that never existed, while 3 songs like MANiCURE, Aura (rewritten to make logical sense), and Fashion! would have slain me so
GUY was well loved by people in my school believe it or not. Someone called it her "only good song" Despite it's abysmal chart peak, the video did really well (more views than Birthday which was a top 20 hit) my aunty even found it on her own without me even telling ha to watch it #Justice4GUY

Ugh I love this part! I love this song but I can see why people would hate it.

The video has over 60M views (combined) people found it on their own. I think we underestimate how much of a force Gaga still is. Her name still draws attention and people are still interested in seeing her new videos
I doubt radios didn't play it because of Gaga, because Applause did fantastic and DWUW started out really strong. Radios probably thought it was dated and didn't think it would do well
G.U.Y. didn't get played because it had been, like, four or five months since Do What U Want came out before it faded into irrelevancy. The radio, like us, assumed Artpop was over. G.U.Y. had no momentum coming off of anything, no radio deals to start a new era (this is what you kinda have to do to start a new era from scratch), and no promotion once the music video was out.
It seems that to Gaga, the music video was what mattered and she didn't really give a **** how it did as a single.
She could snatch a technical one for GUY and not attend. Even Brit got Best Pop in 2009 (undeservedly ) while she was on tour and made a video accepting it.
Oh well, it's still better than nothing.

They basically had no choice. Gaga was THE superstar. If she didn't win any award at the EMA, everyone would have assumed it was because she did not attend you know.
Doubt it will happen again this year though. Her chances to win something are very low.
