Gimmick in the business, to me, is someone who goes along their career without writing anything to prove their skills, and basically only proving that she can fit into the average hit song and not make anything their own.

Britney & Christina started out not writing their own music, but proved what talent they had. Rihanna has acheived to recieve songs written by others. That's it. She can't sing, she can't dance, she can't write.

This is my last argument. Rihanna came in the business writing her own music. From MOTS to AGLM, she was writing music. It doesn't matter if they were singles or not. So we have established that she does write music. What talent does Britney exactly have? Plus, Rihanna came into the business as a great dancer. Her vocals weren't that strong, but as time went by, her vocals have being angelic and amazing. Rihanna can sing, dance, and write.

Okay, well let's say she can't sing THAT well.

Britney didn't write anything on her debut album. The first song she wrote around Rihanna's age was "Dear Diary", and no it was not a masterpiece.

But she co-wrote 5/12 songs on Britney and did amazing, as well 8/12 on In the Zone and got the same amazing result. Her 3rd and 4th albums, Rihanna is heading into her 4th and starting out with four songs I believe. It's a start, and they better be all good.
