Arabs outraged over Kylie Minogue's racist new music video for Burn
The pop diva received massive backlash from arab muslim people
after she debuted her controversial music video for her second single, "Burn."
The video shows the Australian singer found somewhere in the Middle East dressed in a very racy outfit and wearing a niqab, referencing the tradition Aba'ya muslim females wear.
An online petition was made immediately after the video premiered requesting for the video to be completely removed from YouTube, and more than 180,000 people signed the petition after one day.
The petition states that the video "shows a disrespectful image of muslim people and uses violence referencing the terrorism stereotype muslim people suffer with."
Media outlets all over the arab world are bashing the video through news programs, talk shows and newspapers.
Social Media has took a big part spreading muslim's messages towards the video, as the hashtag "#BurnKylie" became a trending topic for 12 hours straight.
Although, the controversy helped the video break records on VEVO, gaining 25 million views in it's 24 hours only, the video so far has had 84 million views currently and is it's on it's second day of availability only.
The director, Joseph Kahn, tweeted about the situation on twitter saying "We did not intend to offend any culture or religion, the video is made for art purposes and only."
Kylie Minogue has yet to speak about the case.
Burn is available for purchase on iTunes and other digital download formats, and available for streaming on Youtube, VEVO and Spotify.
