I lowkey think MTV tells artists what they're going to win before the VMAs happen. Gaga gambled TOO much in 2010. Remember she said she would reveal the name of the next album but ONLY if she won VOTY? What if she hadn't won VOTY? That would've been embarrassing.

Also, she kinda spilled tea during her 2nd speech that night when she apologized for wearing that outfit because it makes her slow and "she didn't quite think through all of the wins". If not, its just one huge HUUUUGE coincidence that everything perfectly aligned like that.

Yeah, I think this is common knowledge? Giving awards to artists is also how some award shows get artists to show up if they're not performing. No high caliber artist is going to waste their time showing up if they aren't going to win anything or receive any attention.

Thanks! The poor thing tbh, he never so much as cried, whimpered, or whined. We were shocked tbh but at least we discovered it fast and got him to the vet!

@ Bang Up, yeah, for the most part. I think some do enjoy the attention. Katy and Gaga (up until a few eras ago) were pretty notorious about going to everything just out of kindness and to promote themselves. The winners of KCA, TCA and PCA DEFINITELY must be told ahead of time though, like, who would bother showing up to that?

Do you guys think we'll get a single from Cheek To Cheek? Do Jazz albums normally get singles that get serviced to radio? Are there even any jazz radio stations? I've always assumed they'd just release a lil' video and then put out the album.

I don't know my musical history, but I think singles were big back in the jazzy early days of the music industry. I'm sure they will put out a single, just not via the usual pop routes.
