No. There are no shops, grocery stores, or any shopping of any kind. I know you're passionate about this game but the reality a lot of core elements that sim players really loved are out. I think more people would have preferred a better executed open world rather than a closed one again. Literally every TS2 & TS3 feature that was buggy was just dropped, in exchange for what? A cow plant, lack of customizing tools, or what?

Shopping has yet to be confirmed or denied though.
We have been told there will be Nightclubs, Museum's etc.
We haven't been told if there will or won't be shops.
But the community lots are Sims/Sims2 style and not Sims3 style.
These are open worlds. They are just smaller.
Closed would mean you are stuck in your lot. You can explore these in great detail.
It's just smaller. But they are smaller, (as the explained) to allow more Sims in each neighbourhood to actually live outside their homes and not have empty neighbourhoods.

this game is either rushed or low budget, you know that, and each day simmer prays in hope there will be no more removed feature from ts4
the sims 4 doesn't even have any kind of reflection, better graphics? more like better lightning, bye

@ you acting like The Sims 3 had better out-of-gameplay backdrops.
Wow those Mountains are SO much more High-Res than The Sims 4 omg

The tree's on the mountains are SO clear.
Not to mention the tree on the actual lot looks terrible

& The Sims look pasted on.

The Sims 4 uses smoother textures in order to provide more actual detail:

^ The textures are less detailed, but the graphics are much better. Look at the flowers by the tree. Look at the bushes. They look terrible. The Sims 4 did it better, and looks better.
When has a street ever looked so good on the Sims 3?
When has a house ever been so realistic on the Sims rather than looking boxy?
For me personally, I'd rather have a realistic and more detailed neighbourhood that's smaller, than a massive one that lack's detail the same amount of detail.
Just because a graphic has higher textures, doesn't mean it's better. The Sims 4 uses simpler textures yet uses better graphics.
