This tbh... SAO is a very overrated anime when in reality is a really bad anime....the only reason it was so popular was for its animation and because it had romance and everyone is thirsty since none of the shounen does romance and most shoujo has no fights....
The idea was very interesting... but the execution failed blunt.... They had so many things they could work with but they didnt.
The pacing is horrible, at the beginning they dealt with the RPG elements but eventually the abandon it just for Asuka and Kirito to play family... which was extra boring
Not to mention they don't deal with the virtual vs real life theme....
The characters were annoying and boring. The harem elements were a stupid addition.... i wont even bother talking about the second season which was cringeworthy...
