The removal or toddlers (and pools) is a result of poor timing, mismanagement, and low budget. So we are getting an unfinished product, that is to be sold for $60, and expected to pay more money for items at have always been in the game. Why would I want to pay $60 for Sims .5?

If you're so happy with the Sims 3, stay with it.
The Sims 3 didn't offer Spa's and contained Rabbit Holes instead of actual lots in the base game.
It also had horrible frame rates no matter how powerful your computer was.
The second game didn't have Young Adults in the base game, and you all lived. I think everyone's overreacting just a bit. The base game is a base game for a reason. If you want features you buy the expansions.
They are allowing more features in the Sims 4 in exchange for others. Just like the Sims 3 did.
This isn't new. Toddlers will most likely have their own Expansion pack, just like Young Adults used to.
If you don't want the Sims 4 without toddlers, don't buy it until they add the feature in.
It will probably cost you less to do that anyway.
