My dad remarried and it lasted, so I'm not upset with him for that. My mom is a badass. She raised two kids while working full time and going from a high school diploma to a master's degree to be able to pay for a home in a better school district. I respect her so much for that.

I know but pop music just keeps being the same while these bands/acts try new sounds and new lyrics. How sad/dark is their album?
Funeral isn't dark in sound or tone, it just comes from a dark place. The background to it is that several members if the band members' families passed away while recording, so the entire process felt like a funeral to them. The songs aren't all sad, but once you know the context, it's easy to see where some of those lyrics and thematic elements are coming from.

My dad remarried too and it's lasted so far and they had a kid together. My mom is just a mess tho tbh. Like she went through a dark period in her life in between divorcing step dad #1 and remarrying him and it led to me and my brother being put under the care of my dad permanently. My dad's successful though, he's raising 5 children right now and brings home a good check.

Yeah my mom married once before I was born and then got divorced, married my dad, got divorced, married step dad#1, divorced step dad#1, re-married step dad#1, re-divorced step dad #1, and now she's just married step dad #2. I hope it lasts for her but it never does

Yeah I know I'm really late but it's such a bop. I always ignored it because I was just thinking it was an overhyped mess on ATRL.
I listen to pop music but also non-mainstream pop acts more so than mainstream ones, tbh. I know you wouldn't be able to tell that from my sig but I'm on ATRL, I know that posting a bunch of random pop acts that nobody knows in my sig wouldn't do anything for me. Tove Lo is like the least known, and even then she's kind of blowing up rn.

I'm the same. I don't know, it seems like the more underground artists have more distinct sounds (largely because the bigger name girls usually work with the same producers and their sounds end up becoming more homogenized and formulaic, I think) and are a lot more different than most of the main artists. Plus I like to root for an underdog.
