I think the darkness is part of her shtick and what makes her so great. Like I can't imagine someone named Lorde in a music video along a wall of flowers ala Gaga and Rihanna or wearing light colors and etc.

Wow Thank you I really appreciate that. I put a bit of time into the OP but I had fun doing it, looking up 90s fashion on tumblr. it was more for my own imagination, but that was really kind of you so thanks

I really like when people show their imaginations on here. It beats "which song is better, x or y?" type threads. I like when people conceptualise future eras using pictures. It's really interesting to see what people would do if they were in control of their fave's career.

Lorde doesn't need to reinvent herself (yet) imo. She needs her current style to become synonymous with her first, before she even tries to shake things up. I don't think it's quite there yet.

It would be too jarring a transition. The public turns on artists who do too quick of a 180. Look at Gaga. Lorde would have to ease in on it over the course of a couple singles. I could see that happening though, without the dream catchers and feathers, she'd be hit with accusations of cultural appropriation faster than a No Doubt video.

I see her taking a Stevie Nicks route honestly.

Because a lot of Sasha Fierce's videos were black and white. And black and white is essentially the absence of colour. If you asked any hive, they would probably tell you it was her darkest era.





The concept for the album was all about her darker, more sexual, edgy, confident alter-ego. It was about as dark as Beyonce got. And if the 'kiiii' was about 4 underperforming, well then even if it underperformed, it was still colourful. You only have to look at the album's photoshoot to see that.
