Absolutely addicted to the lyrics. Do not understand the hate. The Michelle Obama part is absolutely addicting and empowering and the whole song just makes you feel confident. It has that feel.

Agreed! It's my favorite part of the song...it's addicting to sing and I can't get that line out of my head...it's infectious!

Seriously, she's not that great!!! STOP GIVING HER THE LEAD CAUSE SHE'S NOT! Glad Normani sings a lot more in the song than in the whole EP kind of sad Ally and Lauren only have like one line in the song...
SUM UP:
BOSS is great without the chorus and they need to stop focusing on Camila! There are other 4 girls as good as her!
|
You're ridiculous. Whether you like it or not Camila is the closet thing that 5H has to a leader. You have to be happy that all the girls have their time to shine and this is not N'SYNC or Destiny's Child. What the **** do you mean she's not that great? What kinda fan are you? Ugh, bye.

Camila's voice is always lead on Chorus' because her tone just works for that and there's always gotta be a voice that stands out. You wouldn't be a fan of their music if you didn't like it and somehow it works cuz here you are just stop hating.

Lauren or Camila started every song on the EP.
Dinah gets a lot of power notes, Normani does whistle notes (and may have the largest range as she can be the a high harmony or a low one) , Ally does high harmonies.
Lauren's voice is constantly used to give depth to the other girl's vocals with low harmonies. She explained in her Awesomeness TV episode that she cannot go as high as the other girls and has to be careful not to strain because she wishes she could. It's really interesting when you watch them live that if you're not looking, it'd be almost like wow, Lauren only sang the once. But meanwhile she's constantly on task backing the other girls vocals.
It's weird how much in the EP they basically have Camila harmonizing with herself. She does the majority of runs, adlibs and is the most spontaneous with things like that. So despite the way she recorded it, she will test out switching things up every few performances, adding in more adlibs, changing the run. It's cute the way she looks around the first time she's changed it to see if doing so was a success. I think she's helping Dinah build confidence to change things up a bit more as well. The two are each other's security blankets when it comes to confidence a lot lately.
Not vocally, but when it comes to staying on task, organizing, catching cues and or stage direction needs, Lauren is the actual boss.

The beat/production is so good that they need to get the most out of this track! It's one of my favorites this year.

I'd be damned if they take off the chorus. It's ****ing addicting infectious epic and EVERYTHING. They won't take off **** and y'all will see the world boppin to "...Michelle Obama, purse all heavy gettin' Oprah dollas" real soon. It may be ridiculous to some but I can name literally hundreds of pop hits from this and the last decade with ridiculous ass lyrics.

BILLBOARD: Fifth Harmony Name-Drops Michelle Obama, Kanye West on Confident New Single ’Bo$$’
Fifth Harmony is letting everyone know who’s “Bo$$.”
After teasing the confident new single — the first from Fifth Harmony’s upcoming debut album — through Instagram on July 4, the “X Factor” finalists released “Bo$$” in full through MTV.com on Sunday.
“Bo$$” name-drops the likes of Michelle Obama (“Purse all heavy, gettin’ Oprah dollars”) and Kanye West (“You’re talking to a lady, I want a Kanye and not a Ray J”) while exploring a theme of female empowerment over horn-filled beats.
“The whole point of this song is for girls who are our age to turn it on and feel confident and empowered because at this age being insecure is such a normal, common thing,” Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cabello told MTV on the set of the music video for “Bo$$,” which premieres July 8.
“So I think when you turn that song on, feel sexy and feel good about yourself, so the whole point is about being yourself and liking it.”
Fifth Harmony will perform “Bo$$” for the first time during the "Toyota Concert Series on Today" on July 11. Meanwhile, a date has not been set for the release of the group’s as-yet untitled debut album. The five-piece begins a lengthy North American tour with Austin Mahone later this month.
In early March, the group's Lauren Jauregui told Billboard that the new album is “definitely more rhythmic.” Fifth Harmony’s Ally Brooke Hernandez added, “We have shifted the lane a bit and made it a more mature sound, because obviously, we're growing up too.” On the red carpet at the Disney Music Awards in April, Normani Kordei Hamilton told Billboard the album “is totally a different direction, but as far as what we’re talking about it’s still about girl power.”
After finishing in third place on the U.S. "X Factor" in 2012, Fifth Harmony released its debut EP, "Better Together," which included the Hot 100 entry "Miss Movin' On" and debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart last October.
REVIEWS:
MTV: Fifth Harmony are back, they’re sexier than ever, and they’re making it perfectly clear who’s “Bo$$.” "BO$$" is an upbeat girl-power anthem that features the fivesome demanding your respect, showing off their confidence, and unabashedly getting exactly what they want.
Idolator: “Bo$$” proves to be a working girl anthem in the tradition of “Bills, Bills, Bills,” Kelis‘ “Bossy” and TLC‘s “No Scrubs,”.
ANDPOP: Fifth Harmony has just dropped their latest single BO$$ and it is fierce, fabulous, and sassy. As the girls say in the song, they are on their “Michele Obama sh–.”

I was kinda mad that Ally didn't get any big parts, but everyone on twitter is saying that Normani's parts and Ally's high notes are the highlights of the song, so I dont mind anymore.
So if you're with us cmon let me hear you say yeah yeaah yeaaaaaaaah yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

I think about the parts:
One Wish : Normani and Camila > Lauren > Ally and Dinah.
Don't Wanna Dance Alone : everybody, with Camila leading a bit
Better Together : everybody, with Camila leading a bit.
Me And My Girls : Camila (she got the chorus) > the others > Normani (only 2 lines)
Miss Movin On : Camila and Lauren > Dinah > Normani and Ally (they got almost nothing)
Who Are You : Dinah > Ally > the others.
BO$$ : Normani > Camila > the others.
Overall Camila was the most present in the ep, and Normani the least one.
Funny how in all the songs but MAMG Lauren is the one opening, and Normani follows her in One Wish, Better Together, Who Are You and Don't Wanna Dance Alone.
Nobody was expecting Normani to lead in the lead single, I'm sure Ally and Lauren will have their spaces to shine in the album

they debuted at # 6 on the billboard top 200 with an ep but it was released along the same time as katy's album and some others who were still smashing
better together went to #2 on itunes (behind katy) so as long as the album is released on it's own field, i feel like they could definitely do better excited to see how well BO$$ does

btw guys Candece said Lauren is all over BO$$, so yeah some of the parts we think it's Normani it's actually Lauren (now I'm sure about the "shut your mouth" part).

I kind of tried to stay realistic tho, I actually hope for a Top 10 iTunes peak, +60k sales and 2 million streams. I know they could pull it off.

Been listening to the song all day. At first it may sound all over the place but once you get used to it, it becomes a jam tbh.
I hope it does good so we get the album in September. I dont want another Cher Lloyd mess.

I'm 90% sure the song is going top10 on iTunes, probably the pre-orders alone are enough for it.
I'm worried about them being too much frontloaded, cause I know they will.
I'll be disappointed if they sold less than 50k.
Miss Movin' On chart run on iTunes:
JULY - 16th release date
16th Tuesday - #24
17th Wednesday - #26
18th Thursday - #30
19th Friday - #46
20thSaturday - #63
21st Sunday - #76
22nd Monday - #60 (new songs increase on Monday)
23rd Tuesday - #87
*left the top100 for two weeks*
AUGUST
5th Monday - #83
*stayed between #63-#99 for almost full month*
26th Monday - #99
*left the top100 for three weeks*
SEPTEMBER
15th Sunday - #94
*stayed between #66 and #100 until ep release*
Then the ep release pushed the song as high as #37.
The song left the top100 the following week.
