Utada, Kyary, Pizzicato Five (extensively, impressive for the 90s), X Japan (depending on your perception of pop) etc.
I'm like 90% sure that Kyary's will have had a larger audience by default just by nature of having more dates.
You can call it major - sure, feel free to - but if they're only doing like 3 dates, then it by default reaches less people and makes less money than one with, like, 5-10 dates even if they're at slightly smaller venues.
