I bought my Macbook Pro a week ago and I'm not officially starting uni until September but I just had to show them a confirmation of being enrolled into the uni.

Je moet gewoon een printscreen maken van je studielink/duo berichten en die uitprinten. Dat zal echt wel genoeg zijn! Anders neem gewoon iets mee dat lijkt op een studenten kaart, ze zullen daar in Amerika echt niet weten wat het is en helemaal uitzoeken of het wel klopt voor 50-100$ korting

You can pretty much just explain your situation to them if you're going to be at the store, and they'll most likely be fine with it. The American customer service is chill tbh. They tend to give free replacement products, so I don't see how a few hundred dollar discount will be any different. They want to have customers satisfied because it means they can make more profit in the long run, even if that requires some initial "sacrifice" on their already inflated pricing.

dd thanks. Het kutte is alleen dat ik wel door de decentrale selectie heen ben, maar ik sta pas officieel ingeschreven als de centrale selectie ook geweest is, en dat is eind juli. Maar ik zorg er wel voor dat ik die decentrale selectie mail laat zien, de rest zoeken zij maar uit

Maar je gaat die studie dus zeker doen of niet of wat is je plan B? Je moet nog door de centrale selectie ofzo? Ik kon gewoon meteen beginnen. Welke studie? Of miss moeten we dit ff in Nederlands topic doen :P

I just went to Best Buy and showed them the price Apple was offering and they sold me it at that price. I didn't even have to show my student ID or name my University

You can show them any ounce of proof that you're in college and they'll give you the discount... they really don't care. If you order it online they do absolutely nothing to verify. Many people over at MacRumors use the education discount even though they're mostly not students

They only do the $100 gift card in the summer time. You can get the education discount at any time but the $100 gift card is summer/early fall only since it's intended to bring in more college students.

No they're not, only the new Mac Pro is made in the US.

Their products are more expensive in other countries because they have higher import fees and such.

They already make **** tons charging normal retail price that giving 5% of customers an education discount doesn't even make a dent in their profit margins
