If she manages to sell 45k for the next week, her drop will be 75 % and not 80%. Predictions say 40-45k.
She was a new name back then riding on a lot of controversy and the damage that it caused also helped her ironically, so that she didn't have a drop of 80 % or more back then is reasonable.
It's a tough album to sell outside of the fanbase. No sing-alongs, no catchy tunes, no big sound like on BTD. Casual fans, who don't enjoy jazzy and guitar driven sound will have a hard time with this one. Despite the cliché, people who bought Born To Die aren't really hipsters, but more casual pop consumers, who stan for Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Britney Spears.
She has sonically (not lyrically) stepped into new territory with this album.
