I always drag people on here when it comes to their delusions on Adele (just ask Ichi ) so it's no big deal. It''s too easy tbh.

If anything, though, "Turning Tables" deserved a proper worldwide release.

The problem with RHI is that it wasn't what people were wanting from Adele at the time. 21 was still just being discovered by some and I think they would have benefitted more by releasing something like Turning Tables or Don't You Remember.

BTW, I don't know if I posted this yet or not, but to all of you who are fans of Amy Winehouse, I listened to Back to Black last night and I did really like it. I also listened to "Valerie". I still have to listen to Frank and Lioness: Hidden Treasures. I was really impressed. Her vocals were great and the writing was just incredible. I plan on buying Back to Black, but I'd rather buy it on Amazon MP3 for $5.00 than on iTunes for $8.70, so I'm trying to find promotional deals on Amazon so I can buy it.

I can already see the threads about how overrated and mediocre 25 is.
It's already the end of June so if Adele will release an album this year it's gonna be late November or then she'll release it during the Grammy week next year. In my opinion, both are good options.
I'm not concerned about what the other artists do when it comes to album sales 'cause Adele will slay. I'm only worried about the lead single: if she releases a single at the same time with Rihanna and Taylor, Delly might not get another US #1.

I'm not worried about a number 1 single tbh. The lead will likely be a hit no matter what and she could always perform the second single at the Grammys and get that to number 1.

Yeah, I think you're right to a certain extent, but a lot of people compared it to "Rolling in the Deep". But I think the fact that some people were expecting a "Someone Like You" or "Set Fire to the Rain" from her again, and the fact that she did not promote it AT ALL, caused it to underperform for Adele's standards.

Avoid Lioness, that's really not Amy...It's her greedy father and some producers, you notice it instantly...the quality it's really not the same
Frank is not as mature and inspired as BtB (she was young and still kinda clean) but you'll find great vocals and lyrics on it!
Amy had so much in common with Adele...

If she did a video for it (and maybe 1 performance) it would have went top 10, easily. But at that time, like you said, people were likely expecting another one of the ballads from 21 as a single. Something more emotionally connecting than RHI.

Okay. I'll probably listen to it just because I like her voice and her writing so much, but I never even knew it was an actual album. I thought it was like, a greatest hits compilation or a live performance compilation or something like that for the longest time. Once I realized it was a posthumous studio album, though, I figured it was probably released by people who claimed to be close with Amy but were releasing it so they could get money from it. What a shame.....

Exactly. Really, "Rumour Has It" was a good single choice, but it's a difficult predicament because once "Someone Like You" and "Set Fire to the Rain" achieved success, people wanted more ballads from her. "Rumour Has It" didn't really seem to fit in with the mix at the time. If they would've released it before "Someone Like You", though, Adele would have been criticized because of the similarities between the first and second singles, and I thought "Someone Like You" was the perfect second single. So, really, "Rumour Has It" couldn't win even though it was a good single choice.

Oh, God.... Perez and Paul were just talking on Twitter..... I think they're teaming up against me..... Perez responded to Paul's Tweet about how Taylor Swift will sell $1 million in the first week, and Paul responded and said that she was the only one that could do it, and then he added "Possibly Adele". I'm pretty sure Adele will sell at least that in her first week of sales coming off of an era as huge as the 21 era, especially when her album is so highly anticipated.

It's a mix of covers (those are flawless),a few unreleased songs, finished when she was already dead, and a few "original version" of her hits,so basically demos she didn't approve.

Perez tweeting Paul Moss.
Paul was our exclusive source of information dammit (even if he hates most of us).

I think it was mostly Triple A giving it play, the others weren't from what I was hearing bc they didn't get the ok.
I think we tend to underestimate rather than overestimate Adele, actually. We're a bit scared of the other pop girls. And I mean, Taylor has really great opening weeks but zero album longevity. All that airplay and she only got one US #1 off of Red. All of her really impressive receipts come from touring. Even if this is her biggest era yet (I don't see her topping Fearless, but who knows) she has the disadvantage for the rest of her career that she is simply nowhere in the remote range of Adele talent-wise. Rihanna has pretty mediocre album sales, but good singles, however they've tended to be spread out enough to let others in, and are directed to a completely different crowd than Adele. If Adele releases a strong lead single, promotes it, and then follows it with a strong album that she also promotes fully, she is in the best shape of any of them to be successful.

Yeah, I can see them changing the Grammy deadline just so that they can nominate Adele. But look on the bright side; there was that award thing that Paul Tweeted about where Adele and Coldplay are being awarded for their outstanding achievements in music with a huge surprise planned.
|
I'm seeing the surprise now!
Coldplay will give the award to Adele and Adele will give the award to Coldplay
Single release and a performance is also a possible surprise

The music video for Go! could be something like this:
Adele is sitting in a chair, but then she decides she wants to Go! She gets off of her chair and she runs, very fast. While she is running, she starts singing Go! The public is slayed by Adele. Adele's "sitting in a chair" image is gone.

She could run through various countries, into DDs houses. They freak out and start running after her. It becomes a Forrest Gump affair, we slay the world together.
