I did little mathematics and found out that the reported numbers of sales of each album together differ from the total sales of about 120k. I wish we had current numbers for each of the albums. And also updated ww sales of each album.

This is exactly what I was thinking just few days ago. I'm not a big fan of AIEW but still, it's sad that it's just few copies away from 1M and that it's Kelly's only album that's not certified platinum. Even GH is certified gold.

Looking at those numbers for AIEW and Stronger, I can't help but think that leaks had an impact (esp Stronger).

Do you guys think she could pull off/benefit from an iTunes surprise release? This fall? It will have been almost a year since Bey, so wouldn't see like copying IMO.

I'm just wondering if it would work for her?

Stronger sold 225,000 in its first week WW. AIEW sold 345,000. (this is according to Mediatraffic, who doesn't take all markets)

That would be 62,000 internationally for Stronger, and about 90,000 for AIEW in its first week.

So yeah, probably a big difference in some markets.

We know Stronger did better in UK, US, NZ, stayed par in Canada, Australia and Ireland. It was a hit here in Mexico (certified GOLD)

In the rest of the European countries though like Austria, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, it didn't do as well as AIEW (AIEW peaked in the Top 10 in those four countries, Stronger was a Top 20 album)

Stronger's debut numbers weren't bad for Kelly at all. The difference is that Kelly has never been a huge debut week selling artist, she's never debuted above 300k. She kicked off the era with a slow building hit that didn't even hit the Top 10 until the album release week, so the numbers were good considering that.

Yeah. I just wondering what she needs to do differently when releasing. She just doesn't seem to generate enough buzz. MLWSWY seems like the best buzz she's created when releasing an album.

I'm still proud of the numbers overall, I just a more exciting release.

We will never have EXACT WW numbers. Everything we have is based on estimation including that so called WW chart. There are a lot of sales we don't have of countries like Japan, China and South Korea. There are also a lot of digital outlets WW that don't share their buyers information with the public. And we don't know how well the album keeps selling WW after it falls from the charts. We do have shipments numbers and those are:

Thankful: 5 Million shipments
Breakaway: 15 Million shipments
My December: 2 Million shipments
All I Ever Wanted: 2 Million shipments
Stronger: 2 Million shipments
Greatest Hits: 1 Million shipments
Wrapped In Red: 1 Million shipments

+28 Million shipments. During the release of a new album the label ships a few thousand copies of each record but they will most likely stop doing that and ship more of the greatest hits record, which is the most likely to sell the most now.
