I'm with Mazen and Rico on this one. Feedback wasn't getting a good response when it first came out in late December. IDJ knew the song would be a tough sell which is why they released the first single more than 2 months prior to the album release and their intuition was correct because Feedback was not a success by any means. It was languishing for weeks without any upward movement and of course the week of the album release she had the most promo which explains the sudden, short-lived bump in sales. And you all know very well what a "legitimate" hit is because that's 80% of what we discuss here on ATRL.

"Bye Bye" had the same peak as "Feedback," so does that mean we're going to start calling that a hit too? Please wake up and smell the coffee. Janet hasn't released a "hit" since 2001.

Sorry Bobby, but I ignored your post after this sentence. You may not have liked "Feedback" but overall people loved it. Not just on ATRL--the blogs were eating it up.

This is what Eli is not understanding. Every album bumps the single up when it's officially released. He thinks all of a sudden people were interested for a week.

And I don't think to judge what people say on your bus ride home, or on blogs signifies something is a hit. If they really cared her album wouldn't have slid off the chart in 3 months.
