Well, considering Applause has sold more than any BEYONCE single (I think, lol) and ARTPOP selling in the same range as Rihanna, Katy, and Beyonce's latest albums, and Gaga's tour selling better than Katy's, I'm going to have to say that maybe Wendy is talking out of her ass. Just a guess.
The two should go together and make a movie... get that Oscar. 
I assume they can be nominated for some jazz categories as well. I'm sure they intend on submitting the album.
She better cut out the MANiCURE section to be eligible!
Looks like the public sees her as a musician and not just a singer.
