I don't think it sounded very different. It's like Pretty When You Cry and Guns and Roses and Flipside. Those are the tracks she kept her original prodution on when she first recoded/finished the album in Electric Lady Studios in NY and they're not that different from the rest of the album just more raw and unfinished.

After being gone for a week I finally got to see the Shades of Cool video the visuals

And FLIPSIDE! it doesn't really pick up but the chorus is beautiful!

Somehow I feel that she is moving away from hip hop inspired sounds. I can totally see her produce more herself. She co-produced 2 songs on UV, this can easily be more the next time around.

Or watch her letting a new album being produced by somebody like Steve Albini. Well, he produced In Utero...

I don't know if I want her to move back to a hip-hop sound per se. I just think his image works very well with hers and that he could really help guide a classic album with her. Stuff like 808s and Yeezus show Kanye can really pull things together that aren't just standard hip-hop.
